Begin with a gentle clean
Use clean water, a mild pH-neutral detergent and a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse away residue and dry with a non-abrasive cloth. Avoid harsh solvents, abrasive pads and metal scrapers that may affect glass coatings, powder-coated finishes or seals.
Exposure varies. Dusty, industrial or unusually exposed locations may need more frequent attention than sheltered suburban openings. Follow the product-specific care information supplied with your windows.
Clear tracks and drainage paths
Vacuum loose grit before wiping tracks. Check visible drainage openings and remove loose debris without drilling, enlarging or sealing them. Avoid directing high-pressure water into joints and seals.
Sliding systems are particularly sensitive to grit. A clean track protects rollers and keeps operation light.
Notice changes in operation
Open and close each unit slowly. Look for unusual resistance, a loose handle, a damaged seal or a sash that no longer aligns as expected. Do not force a stiff component; identify the cause first.
